Safeguarding at St Paul’s

Safeguarding is at the heart of our Christian faith, which means at St Paul’s Church we take action to promote a safer culture for everyone, in all that we do.

The welfare of the child, young person and vulnerable adult is at all times paramount, and takes precedence over all other considerations.

What do we do?

We follow the guidance from the Church of England, https://www.churchofengland.org/safeguarding/promoting-safer-church-safeguarding

We are also guided by the Diocese of York Safeguarding Team here: https://dioceseofyork.org.uk/safeguarding

Heather Robinson

Safeguarding officer

We have a local safeguarding policy which can be read here. In addition our reporting proforma can be downloaded here and our reporting flowchart can be downloaded here.

We ask that everyone in our church consider doing the basic awareness training online from the Church of England. There is further training which is mandatory in other roles and the Parish Safeguarding Officers will talk to you about this. Training needs to be refreshed every three years. (see Diocese of York safeguarding pages link below)
